The Pixel Union Partner Program is a way for Shopify partners, agencies, bloggers, and influencers to earn referral rewards from the sale of best-selling Shopify themes across our brands and from Theme Updater & Backups app plans.
Below are the full terms and conditions of the partner program.
These terms and conditions apply to the joint partner program operated across the Pixel Union, Clean Canvas, Archetype Themes, and Out of the Sandbox brands (the "administrators").

Eligible products
Approved partners can earn referral rewards from:
- All Pixel Union, Clean Canvas, Archetype, and Out of the Sandbox Shopify themes
- All Theme Updater & Backups app plans
Eligible sites
Referral links may be posted on media owned directly by the approved partner. Examples of eligible properties include bona fide agency sites, blog posts, email newsletters, or content shared via social media owned by the partner.
You may also share your referral link with clients, colleagues, or your professional network. You may not, however, set up a partner account and then purchase a product for your own use.
Referral tracking and expiry
Referrals are subject to a 12-month expiry. To be eligible for a reward, the referred customer must complete their purchase within 12 months of the creation of their customer profile. Purchases made after this window has closed are not eligible for rewards.
Reward rate
All eligible products earn a 15% referral reward.
From time to time, additional rewards may be made available during temporary promotional periods, special arrangements, etc. Any such increased rate applies only for the duration and under the conditions specified for that period, at the administrators' sole and final discretion.
Rewards are based on the net sale, after any discounts, marketplace fees, but before taxes or other fees.
Payment schedule
There is a one-month buffer period between when rewards are earned and when they are paid. Exact payout dates and timing may vary, and the administrators reserve the right to determine payout dates and eligibility at their sole and final discretion. Some conversions may be subject to a longer hold period. All sales and rewards are in USD. The administrators reserve the right to delay, cancel, or withhold rewards at their sole and final discretion.
Representation and disclosure
Partners may not represent themselves as "authorized resellers" or "resellers" of the administrators, or use any other language that conveys a partnership, reseller, or wholesale relationship between the partner and Pixel Union, Clean Canvas, Archetype, or Out of the Sandbox.
Partners should instead use the term "partner" or "affiliate."
Partners must link visitors directly to the applicable brand storefront to purchase.
Partners must comply with all local and international disclosure laws in any content containing referral links.
Brand standards
Partners must abide by all brand standards. Partners may, at the administrators' sole and final discretion, be asked to remove any logos or other brand assets.
Discount codes
Partners may not publish discount codes on public websites or create pages claiming to contain them unless approved by us. Partners may, however, distribute discount codes to eligible customers privately or via single social media posts.
Promotion costs
Any costs a partner invests into promoting their referral link (including but not limited to paid advertising) are the sole risk and responsibility of the partner. The administrators will not reimburse partners for any costs incurred in promoting a referral link, regardless of whether those efforts result in eligible rewards.
Taxes
Partners are solely responsible for any taxes or other government-mandated fees, and the administrators cannot provide tax advice. The administrators will not be responsible for issuing tax records or statements to partners.
Tracking
Please be aware that if you refer a visitor to a storefront, the administrators may use remarketing technology to display ads to that customer in the future. Orders placed via remarketing are not eligible for rewards. Also, please be aware that if a customer searches for or attempts to use certain discount codes, your sale may not be eligible for a reward.
Reward conditions
In order to receive a referral reward, the product must be purchased via your PartnerStack unique tracking link, or other approved method, at the applicable brand storefront.
Rewards not valid for purchases made before tracking established.
The administrators reserve the right to decline, determine the eligibility of, or adjust any reward (including partial rewards) at their sole and final discretion, and are not required to provide any reason or context for such decisions.
Rewards are based on the final purchase price and collected revenue, less any discounts applied but exclusive of any taxes or fees.
Please note that if a customer you referred receives a refund, you will no longer be eligible for a reward on that sale. The administrators also reserve the right, at their sole and final discretion, to suspend or remove a partner's eligibility at any time, without notice, and to withhold payments
Payment accounts
The administrators do not verify that Partnerstack's accounts are correct and are not responsible for notifying partners of errors. Partners should log in to the partner dashboard to verify the correct payment information, address, etc. is on file. If payment is issued to an incorrect email address as the result of partner error, the reward is forfeited, and the partner must update the email address on file immediately to receive future payments. Payments returned due to invalid account information generally will be returned to the partner's balance due until a valid PayPal email address is provided; however, the administrators cannot be responsible for errors in email addresses and reserve the right to retain funds that are repeatedly returned due to invalid email address data.
Confidentiality
Conversion rates, rewards, payouts, and program operations, including partner program dashboards, are considered confidential, proprietary information between the partner and the administrators. Partners are strictly prohibited from publicly discussing conversion rates, payouts, program policies, or other program details in any public forum.
The administrators reserve the right to edit or modify the terms of this program, or to suspend or cancel this program, at any time without notice. This program is provided as a courtesy only, and the administrators do not guarantee that all rewards will be properly tracked and cannot provide credit for improperly tracked orders. The administrators also reserve the right to deny any application or remove a partner from the program for any reason without notice, which may include forfeiture of any pending rewards.
